Born in 2012, the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI) is a non-profit free software project that aims to empower decentralized efforts in documenting internet censorship around the world.

In this module you will learn how to use OONI’s tools to detect the blocking of websites, instant messaging apps, and censorship circumvention tools. Maria Xynou of OONI will also discuss how you can use OONI network measurement data to uncover evidence of Internet censorship. As a part of this module, Maria will walk through how you as an activists can use OONI’s various products including Probe, Run, and Explorer to most effectively capture and collect measurements.
